Trekking in Tibet

Trekking in TibetTibet has the greatest trekking country on the earth and it is surrounded by the most extensive jumble of mountains found on any continent. Stretching for almost 1900 miles (3000 km) and forming its entire southern boundary is the Himalaya, and along its western extremity is the equally rugged Karakoram.

Between these two ranges are found all fourteen of the world's 8000-meter peaks including Mount Everest. In Northern Tibet the Plateau is a high arid expanse known as the Chang Tang, the "Northern Plains," while Eastern Tibet is bounded by a succession of mountains where three of Asia's largest rivers cut deep, parallel gorges on their journey from the Plateau to the sea.

Trekking in TibetMany people identify Tibet a desolate, cold windswept desert on the roof of the World. But Tibet has an unusually diverse and strikingly very much beautiful landscape of snowcapped mountain summits, lush rhododendron & conifer forests and fertile agricultural valley too.

In general, travel to Tibet represents the sightseeing tours but even the land is situated in average of above 13000 feet, this inaccessible land have lots of possibilities of trekking routes for the adventure seeker. Whether it is a pilgrimage trek or a mountain expedition, Tibet offers trekking trips from short one day to month long as per ones requirement. But the treks are not feasible in the wintertime as the temperature goes very low (-30 to -40ºF) and also the days are much shorter.

Tibet's high altitude and the atmosphere allow the sun's solar radiation to strike the earth with unusual intensity.
